Spotlight Sunday with Elektrik Red

It's your girls of NYO back with another edition of Spotlight Sunday... Sorry its been a while, but lets get right back to it. This week were going to be spotlighting a real cool group by the name of:
Elektrik Red

Earlier in the week (like Tuesday!) we posted their latest video "So Good", a remix to their 3rd single featuring Lil' Wayne, which is a real feel good song! But this week we're going to tell you a little bit more about this quintet.

The best way to describe Elektrik Red is Kelis meets Janet Jackson. The group is composed of four girls, hailing from New York City and Toronoto, whose names are: Lesley, Naomi, Binkie and Sarah. When you see the girls you're probably telling yourself 'Hey I've seen these girls before' and you have! The girls have been featured in some of the hottest videos with artist like Chris Brown, Diddy, Ciara, Jennifer Lopez, E-40 and even Ballys commercials! The group also has been recently seen up close and personal, while opening up for some of the hottest artist today--such as Ne-Yo on the Year of the Gentleman tour and Lil Wayne on the I am Music Tour.

With a resume with names like that on it, you would think Electrik Red would have taken the easy route by simply calling one of their high profile musical celeb friends to get a deal, but you thought wrong! Electrik Red decided to go the tough route that all brand new artists
with no connections usually have to go through.

The girls who are now produced by the famous Tricky Stewart and The-Dream are sure to keep you dancing and singing along to their tunes. Be sure to check out some of their videos on youtube and you'll be glad you didn't sleep on them!

So I'm coming to u guys live from the mall for your That's Right. I was going to talk to u guys about how bad stress is on your weight loss but now I'm stressed out! I'm at one of the ghetto malls of america and I have advice for all of our viewers:

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT wear a medium if you're an extra large!!

I know we all decided we were gonna get right by the summer, and if you've been following the instructions you should be right. But if you're not where you want to be yet, YOU SHOULDN'T BE WEARING the clothes like you are!

I see a lot of hot messes right now and I just felt this should be the address given by yours truly, NYO Group.

Rihanna's Dad Speaks Out About Chris Brown's "Not Guilty" Plea

So as you know [from our update yesterday], Chris Brown took the not guilty plea at his arraignment yesterday&& will be proceeding with the court hearing on April 29th...but what we just recently found out is that Rihanna's father, Robert Fenty, wasnt too pleased about this plea that Chris Brown took...In an interview between Mr. Fenty && US Weekly, Robert was not afraid to express his disagreement with this whole ordeal...

According to the interview, Robert stated:

So what happened? Somebody else did this to Rihanna then? I just would like to see justice go in the right direction. I don’t want his career to be damaged — it’s damaged already. I think he’s a talented guy, but everybody should have to pay. When you do the crime, you do the time. I don’t want to see him locked up for a long time — I just want him to acknowledge and get some help.

Then he continued:

“Who did it — that’s the question now. If he’s not guilty, who did it? He should say ‘guilty’ and let the court be leaning into him and try himself to the mercy of the court, see if he gets a fine…Now he’s going to go beyond that and it could go longer, it can be even worse. It can be worse for him in the long run.”

mMm...looks like papa-RiRi aint to happy with this plea-plea...Lmao [i know that was corny lol]

ReCap of Chris Brown's Arraignment Today

So today was the day that many Chris Brown && Rihanna fans were waiting for--the day that Chris Brown officially got arraigned...SOOo as many of you may have heard...Chris Brown resulted to pleaing NOT GUILTY for both felony charges [felony assault && making criminal threats] brought against him from the actions that took place February 8th...on alleged victim, Rihanna...

According to reports made by CNN.com:

Brown is charged with felony counts of assault and
making criminal threats. If he is convicted, the sentence could range from
probation to four years and eight months in prison, the Los Angeles County
District Attorney's Office has said.

When asked about pop-singer Rihanna:

Rihanna's lawyer, Donald Etra, told reporters after Monday's hearing that his client "would prefer that the matter be resolved expeditiously and fairly."

"She believes that the quicker this case is over, the more quickly she can get back to her life and her career, which is exactly what she'd like to do," Etra said.

The goal is "to see if it can be resolved prior to the preliminary hearing and prior to trial," Etra said. "I think that would benefit everybody."

Further reports stated that Etra claimed that Rihanna would be participating in the trial ANY WAY that she could (that including testifying if she's asked to)...

Hmm...I hope this case doesnt just drag out...but Chris's next hearing is set for April 29th...so until then...we will continue to keep him in our prayers for the best....

Hey ya'll...this ya girl Denisha && I wanted to personally apologize, on behalf of NYO, for the lack of posts this week....but all of us have been on a tight schedule && i personally have been going through some family problems...making it hard for us to come on the site as much as we would like to...

but dont fret..cuz we will most DEFINATELY be back with the daily posts on Monday...soOO hopefully ya'll look forward to that...

Hey guys... I hope you guys' weeks are going better than ours! So far,all the members of NYO Group have been swamped with homework, papers and tests, ALL due in the same day! College life can definitely be no joke when it comes to the work load!

But anywho! I hope you guys are doing okay and I hope that you guys have been eating healthy and fitting in some exercise. You'll be surprised at how it'll make you feel! In fact, I'm scheduling a relaxing walk tonight when I finish up my classes! And I'm telling you guys, I know for sure that when the going gets tough and rough, life is stressing you out, people are stressing you out, and YOU are stressing you out, getting away from everything and everybody briefly for 30 minutes to go take a walk,will bring you MUCH relief.
